What Is Money?

"Money never starts an idea; it is the idea that starts the money."
W. J. Cameron

Have you wondered what money is? Why are people willing to spend hours to obtain this thing called money? There are people in this world who steal to get money while and there are those who sell their own body to earn quick bucks.

Is money really the root of all evil?

Let's try dissecting money and see what's beneath it all.

Take out your money from your wallet and actually look at it. If you burn them (which I don't reccomend you doing), the bills will become ash and the coins will become deformed. Now if you were to take it to a store and try to pay your groceries with them, they wouldn't accept it. Why?

Because it becomes unrecognizable (in more ways than one). Money is just a tool. The elements that make up money isn't worth much. However, when it takes form of a currency, that is when our eyes start to grow bigger. It is what you can do with it that gives it value to them.

For example, let's take a block of stainless steal. By simply molding it into certain shapes, it can become a hammer or other useful tools we can use.

Don't be too caught up trying to make money. As Benjamin Franklin once said, " Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. "

What Would You Do?

W.W.Y.D?

If you're not where you want to be, think about that person you want to become.

Think really hard what it would take to get you there.

Every action has consequences.

Let's say that your only goal is to become a successful business owner. When you're tempted to laze around, think to yourself W.W.Y.D (If you were a successful business owner, What Would You Do? If you're dedicated to your goal, you would realize that certain actions would not take you closer to your goals.

Make it a habbit to check with yourself if that is what your future self would be doing. Sooner or later, you will become that person.

Become the master of every situation

Isn't it interesting how no matter what situation you're in, you always have more than one choice available?

When we are faced with a challenge, it's tempting to take the easy way out and just give up.

If you're stuck, don't be stubborn or shy to ask for help.

Write your own story.

Daily reflections

Set aside some time every day (yes, every day) to reflect on how you spent your day.

Keep a journal or a blog. You can share with people or simply keep it to yourself.

During this time, you might notice that you are not heading in the right direction, or you are not taking full advantage of life. Remember what your priorities are and focus on them.

Life's too short

Life's too short.

How many times have we heard that before? You must be thinking "yeah yeah yeah. I know life's short." But how many people do you think actually live a full, complete life? Sadly, not many.

You know, we all have one life to live. So might as well make it a rewarding journey.

Many of us get carried away trying to obtain the material things in life- whether it's a brand new car or trying to keep up with all the latest gadgets that floods the market.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's great to pamper yourself, but if it's costing you half of your life to get there, maybe it's not worth taking that trip.

Maybe it's about time we take a look at where we're headed and sort out our priorities. I know life is not all about joy and laughter. Sometimes we cry, sometimes we fall, and sometimes there will be people that attempt to break our spirits.

Other people cannot destroy your beliefs- they are only spectators and critics.

Are you a procrastinator? Do something about it now.

maintaining a "positive" image

Having good, presentable image is very important. It gives others a peak into what your character is like even before you open your mouth.

Earlier today, I was approached by a man who was trying to sell me something. Being the curious guy I am, I decide to stop a while and listen to what he had to say. But when he approached close enough, I realized that even with his neatly-pressed, white shirt, he looked scruffy. His facial hair was not neatly kept. I wasn't sure if it was intentional, but it sure was untidy. The guy didn't last three seconds.

Look forward to tomorrow

Don't be afraid of tomorrow.

Do what you can do today and deal with tomorrow as it comes.

Often we are afraid of tomorrow because we tend to procrastinate today and hope that tomorrow will somehow magically take care of itself.

Think about it logically. What you don't finish today will carry on over to tomorrow.

Plan your day and set realistic tasks each day that needs to be done.

Apply what you know

Whether you are venturing in a new business or a new, high-paying job, it is important to export your knowledge over to your new career. Think of your previous career as your building blocks for your next adventure.

There are many individuals who do not apply what they have learned, hence history repeating itself - another business gone sour or being lost within their career.

Put your thoughts in order and do it right the first time. If you make a mistake, make a note of it, and it'll end up valuable to you in the future.

Survival leads to Success

"Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this." - Henry Ford

Thought of the day:
Isn't it interesting how animals fight for their survival? Fighting back to protect their way of life in any condition. If the weather is too cold they will migrate to a warmer place, when food shortages occur they will scout for new territories.

Be ready for change.

You should go for your dreams, but don't make your roadmap too rigid (there's a fine line between being committed and being stubborn). True, you shouldn't give up, but don't try to move an entire mountain so you can remain on your path (I'm sure there's a better way).

"If you want to be successful, it's just this simple: Know what you're doing. Love what you're doing. And believe in what you're doing" Will Rogers

Believe in what you're doing.
